As the former CTO and co-founder of itopia, I am proud to share that our company has been honored with the 2023 Google Cloud Industry Solutions – Tech Partner of the Year for Education Award. This recognition was announced at the Google Cloud Next ‘23 conference in San Francisco.
During my tenure at itopia, I led the team responsible for the development and launch of CloudApps Classroom, a secure, cloud-based platform that allows students to stream over 100 essential industry applications from anywhere. This innovative solution is revolutionizing education by enhancing accessibility and improving educational equality. Our platform is being rapidly adopted by leading school districts across the United States as a crucial addition to STEM, fine arts, and career and technical education (CTE) curriculums.
Under my leadership, we addressed the challenge of making critical applications accessible on ChromeBooks, which are used by 70% of students in the U.S. We partnered with Google Cloud to create a simple, secure, and affordable solution that integrates seamlessly with Google Workspace, Office 365, Clever, and Classlink, providing powerful roster sync capabilities and empowering teachers with the tools to manage virtual labs independently.
Today, nearly 2 million students across 20 states can access and stream top industry apps through CloudApps Classroom, enhancing their learning experience and supporting education equality. This achievement underscores the impact and success of our work within the Google Cloud ecosystem.
